At IAS – Int. Academy of Sexology & RelationshipTherapy, you can study 38 Specialist Educations.

The Specialist Educations shape your unique path as a therapist – and give you the opportunity to increase your knowledge & follow your passion, in exactly the areas that interest you! 

You can study The Specialist Educations either read at the same time in parallel with the Main Educations; Sexologist & RelationshipTherapist. Or you can study The Specialist Educations, after The Main Educations.

The Specialist Educations are in English and most are online.

The Specialist Educations are each 4-6 months with 4 modules of 3 or 2 days, exceptions of 2 Specialist Educations, that are 2 modules only.

We recommend you to 6-12 month before start.

Most Specialist Educations have modules either Monday-Wednesday or Friday-Sunday. They Start every year, mostly in the same weeks.

 The two main educations; Sexologist & RelationshipTherapist are like left & right legs. In addition, there are the 40 innovative and unique Specialist Educations, each deals with specific areas that enable the individual student to specialize further in selected relevant areas. Plus the MasterResearcher Education!

THE 40 SPECIALIST EDUCATIONS

LENGTH & DURATION

• You can choose between 40 specialist programmes.
• Each specialist training lasts 4-6 months and consists of 4 modules of 3 each. 2 days.
• Some specialist courses, such as Supervisor and Group Therapy Leader are on 2 modules + exam.
• The modules for the specialist courses are: Monday+Tuesday+Wednesday or Friday+Saturday+Sunday.

RHYTHM & START

• The Specialist Educations are either read in parallel with the main Educations; Sexologist & RelationshipTherapist, or after.
• Most students study between 2 and 5 Specialist Educations.
• Each Specialist Educations starts either every year, every 2nd or every 3rd year.
• Most Specialist Educations are mostly in the same weeks every year.
  

ECONOMY & EDUCATION PACKAGES

• With simultaneous admission/registration for Sexologist & RelationshipTherapist & Specialist Educations with Education Packages, there are big savings.
• It is therefore a good idea to familiarize yourself thoroughly with the Specialist Educations before applying, as there is a lot of money to be saved!

• By choosing Education Packages, you are always admitted to the first running group, of each Specialist Education.

LANGUAGE

• The Specialist Educations are in English. However, when you hand in assignments for each education, you can choose between delivering your work in either, English, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian or German. The individual Supervision can mostly be taken in theese 5 differnt languages + more also. Please ask! 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS & APPLICATION

• In order to be admitted to the Specialist Educations, you must meet the admission requirements for admission to the Sexologist & RelationshipTherapist Educations. In addition, there are the individual admission requirements for each of the Specialist Educations, which you will find under the description of each Specialist Education. Some Specialist Educations only require that you are enrolled in and study Sexologist (S), others RelationshipTherapist (R) and others again require you to be enrolled in and study both Sexologist & RelationshipTherapist (SR).
• If you come from a different school within Sexology & RelationshipTherapy than IAS, you can also, in many cases, be admitted. However, you must expect to supplement with individual modules on The Sexology Education and/or The Relationship Therapist Education – in subjects that form a direct basis for the learning on the Specialist Educations.
• We recommend applying at the same time as applying & enrolling in the Main Educations; Sexologist & RelationshipTherapist. In that way you save money – and you also know when your education modules are scheduled to run.
• It is possible to apply to The Specialist Educations all year round, but no later than 2 months before the start. The team closes when it is full. We therefore recommend applying as early as possible!

• The Individual Line – for is your career and your future work!
• On the Application Form, you will be presented with many different questions, which help us get to know you – and form the basis for us to also have the opportunity to guide you in your choice of educations during the admissions interview.

By looking into each Individual Specialist Education, you will find information about how the different Specialist Educations relate to each other, and can be combined.

You can read about which Specialist Educations we recommend studying together. Tune into your specific interests and wishes for your future work profile – and you will be able to create your own individual & unique education line as a modern & relevant Therapist.

CONSIDERATIONS & THOUGHTS

When you choose your education path, it is relevant to ask yourself various questions:

1. What are my core values ​​as a person and a therapist?

2. In which field would I like to work in the future?

3. Do I want predominantly eastern orientation or western orientation in my work – or a combination?

4. Do I want to work primarily with therapy/consultation 1:1 – 1:2 or teaching & lectures for many – or a combination?

5. Am I interested in research, new thinking and innovative work in the field of sexology & relationshiptherapy?

6. Do I want to wish to work with the more difficult areas that require a solid educational background, presence, strong intuition, ability to adapt quickly, sharpness and attention to detail, e.g. Trauma Therapist?

7. Is my work primarily oral communication or do I also want it to be the written word, film or through art.

8. Do I want non-verbal communication – e.g. through ayurvedic massage, with my clients?

9. Is my career primarily at one address/clinic or am I associated with companies, as a consultant – or a combination?

10. Is my aim spiritual – and is it important for me to include spiritual techniques in my conscious work with other people and myself – in my daily work? Etc.

PLANNING & MODULE WEEKS

There are many Specialist Educations, and sometimes it will be necessary, if the class is not sufficiently filled, to move the class to the following year.

The Educations are basically in the same week, every year – so it’s easy for you to plan!

Sometimes there is such a large influx at a Specialist Educations that the team is split in 2 and either runs in parallel with different teachers or the class is placed in other weeks.

Both is announced as far in advance as possible!
